Hi! Welcome to my cooking experience! I’m Izusha.
I'm a passionate cook teaching Japanese home cooking to
people from around the world.
I used to live in Virginia, USA for two years when my kids
were small. The elementary school my son went to had
so many international students from over 70 countries,
and I cooked Japanese food in the school festival.
The memories I had there through exchanging cultures and
cooking were amazing!
Now I live in suburban Tokyo. I have qualifications for “The Japan Association of
Cooking for Foreigners” and “Tofu meister”. I am also a qualified Udon noodle teacher.
I hope you enjoy attractive Japanese culture and WASHOKU (traditional Japanese cuisine) through these cooking experiences.

It was such a wonderful experience making Udon with the wonderful Izumi san! I would like to make Udon to my family when I go back to Egypt. Totally recommended!

We had a great experience with Izumi-sensei. She was very patient with my teenage son and accommodated our different food preferences with a change in the menu. Both my son and I learnt a lot, not only about cooking but also about Japanese language and culture associated with dining. Arigato gozaimashita!

We had such a wonderful time with Izumi and really enjoyed the cooking class. She was very welcoming and we felt immediately at home in her lovely house. She was knowledgeable about the process of making both the udon noodles and the dashi broth, explaining the process clearly and sharing information about the ingredients. We came away from the class with recipes for everything we made and feel very confident about making the noodles and the dashi ourselves. After we had eaten, Izumi demonstrated a matcha tea ceremony and we drank some lovely matcha. Izumi then drove us back to the train station. I cannot stress enough how delightful Izumi is and would highly recommend taking a class with her.

Cooking with Izumi was amazing! She was an incredibly gracious host. The Japanese-style vegan food we cooked together was so amazing! I had dishes I had never heard before and was able to try new foods, which Izumi provided explanation for. I feel like vegan food in Japan can sometimes be difficult to find or get recipes for, so this is a great opportunity to explore some more eco-friendly food options. Everything turned out so delicious! Izumi thoughtfully provided the recipes for me so I've been able to try and recreate the dishes at home as well!

An Unforgettable Cooking Class Experience at Izumi's Home I recently attended my first cooking class at Izumi's private house, and it surpassed all expectations. Izumi kindly picked me up from the station, immediately making me feel comfortable in the beautiful and serene neighborhood. Her bright and kind personality created a welcoming atmosphere akin to visiting a friend's house. I highly recommend this class, as it offers a unique opportunity to learn and indulge in homemade healthy Japanese food. Despite being vegan, the flavors were well-balanced and satisfying, even for a meat lover like myself. I'm already looking forward to arranging a private class focused on Japanese cuisine during my next visit to Tokyo. Thank you, Izumi, for an unforgettable experience.
